  1. The face Josh makes right at the end is priceless. Well done, sir. Bravo!

  2. Yay! So fun!

  3. Hey Josh, Good work! Glad LE is back in action. Robin was a fine new addition, and I think I recognized that couple. Nanny and Dina, right?

  4. Hahahahahahaha!
Where can I sign up for that cult!

Boy, you guys are on a roll now.
Give me more episodes. I love it!

  5. Love it! Congrats Josh, it turned out fantastic! That was a great team to work with!

  6. “It’s not a human rights violation! It’s just a cult!” –classic!

This is really great Josh! Now I’m super bummed I wasn’t there to help you shoot it.

  9. I really loved this, it was hilarious. Some parts weren’t as funny because I have no sound on my computer at work, but when Danny closed the cell phone on his head, I could see right away that was priceless.
    Kudos to the Kolorado Kids!

  10. This was very funny (like all the episodes you do)

It brings back memories of Boulder…sniff, sniff..

Well done. Now…just a question I have for you….where do I apply to open the Atlanta branch of the cult? (I could use some help too)

    Says:

@Luis – Thanks! Glad you liked the episode. You’ll be happy to learn that since shooting, Danny has rapidly spread Soul Buddies throughout the United States.

There are chapters everywhere, including Atlanta, where the local Soul Buddies specialize in brewing a spiritually-flavored BBQ sauce called “Southern Soul Travel Sensations.” They claim that their secret recipe is so powerful that it actually triggers a past life regression and you taste the best cut of beef you’ve had in any of your previous lives.

Bottles of this concoction are shipped directly to Danny for his personal enjoyment. The sauce is also available in Whole Foods in the “Cult Products” aisle next to Dr. Bronner’s soap and the Washington Times.

  12. This is the best episode yet, as it delves into the darkest recesses of irrational minds, from Boulder, Colorado to New York to the nearest Piggly Wiggly’s. The episode is teeming with verve and insightfulness yet presented with alacrity and irony. With Larry David’s purse, this could be one of the greatest sitcoms since Hawkeye Pierce put moonshine in Frank Burns’ cough medicine. I’m not saying that Larry David has a purse, per se, but merely using a metaphor, if you will. Kudos to all. I would also like to tip my hat (if I were wearing one) to the costume director, Eleanor Flattop, for this episode. Her cult shirts are vibrant and have a certain astral glow, making one almost believe that he was something special in a past life, like a great orator or that guy who discovered electricity by flying a kite. (His name will come to me, I’m sure). Josh Shayne, you are a wonderful director and a brilliant writer. If there were only more of you, the world would be shaking on its axis from people who could not stop laughing. And you know what happens when you laugh too much, don’t you? Well, let’s just say that dry cleaners and laundrymats would be grateful for the upswing in business as well.

  13. Hey Josh, you have done it again. A great addition to your great stable of shorts. If this doesn’t get you into the big time, I don’t know what would.
