Josh Shayne: Bio + Resume
I have more than 15 years of professional experience in graphic design, web design, email marketing, advertising and ecommerce. You might think this seems like a lot of experience for someone my age — you’d be right — I have a bit of an unusual background.
I began working as a professional freelance designer and illustrator at 10 years old.
My parents have owned and operated Creative Bureau Inc., a graphic design firm, for over 25 years. My childhood was a flurry of fonts, pantone-color books, proofs, and visits to the printer.
It wasn’t long before I was assisting on design projects and page layouts. By the time I was 12, I had secured several freelance clients all my own — designing illustrated kids’ menus for restaurants and publishing single-panels in the local newspaper and national magazines.
As the industry evolved, I took over the web design department of Creative Bureau, developing in HTML, CSS, and PHP code as well as expanding into email marketing and e-commerce.
During college, while obtaining my film degree at NYU, I worked for 2 years in the Art Department of the university’s In-House Advertising Division.
Since graduating in 2005, I have worked both in film + tv, launched CityLightsGuide: an online video advertising + marketing platform, and continued my design and illustration freelance work.
Working in creative design every day has been fulfilling both personally and professionally and I have no plans of slowing down. I love producing attractive design pieces that serve both form and function — meeting my clients’ needs as well as my own high aesthetic standards.
I always have an active slate of projects and I am currently accepting new ones.
